A great night was had on Saturday 4th of March when Michael Fennelly visited Coolderry and officially opened the new Community Gym. He also gave a very interesting and stimulating talk on the importance of nutrition and sport. Check out pictures from the opening here

Membership for 12 months (from March 17 to March 18) is as follows
- €110 membership + €10 fob fee. (total of €120). This fee includes normal Club membership fee. For those who have already paid their membership the balance of fees must be paid.
- €30 once only fitness programme evaluation fee.
Membership to the gym will be completed when
a) form and €120 fee has been submitted to Coolderry GAA Secretary.
b) complete fitness programme evaluation with Julie McGuire. €30 fee to be paid directly to her.
c) fitness programme evalution report to be submitted to Coolderry GAA Secretary
The new Coolderry Gym will be officially opened on Saturday 4th March by Michael Fennelly, the famous Kilkenny Hurler. Michael is also a lecturer in Limerick Institute of Technology in the area of Strength & Conditiong and will also do a talk on the importance of nutrition for sport. Certificates will also be presented to those who completed the Coolderry Operation Transformation programme this year.The proceedings will commence at 6.30pm with Michael doing a short talk and Q&A Session. This will be followed by the presentation of the Certificates and then the opening of the Gym. All are welcome.
The annual club auction will be held on Sunday 27th November. A wide variety of merchandise and materials available on the day. Lots of fire wood available for purchase to keep you warm over the cold winter months.
Coolderry Fittest Family
Coolderry GAA and the Black Bull Threshing Festival are hosting the Inaugural Coolderry Fittest Family Competition as part of the Festival on the 28th August 2016. This fun filled event will pit family and friends against each other with the aim of gaining the title of Coolderry Fittest Family for 2016/17. The short obstacle course will involve some climbing, lifting, balancing and running and will be family friendly.
Teams of 4 will compete on a course approx 200m in length and tackle a number of “interesting” obstacles. Team should consist of 2 Adults and 2 juveniles (aged between 10 and 18) from the same immediate family or close relations. Promises to be a bit of crack and fun. Get your teams in now. On June 4th Coolderry GAA will hold their Golf Classic in Roscrea Golf Club to raise funds to cover the cost of running the club. Last year was a great year for the club when we won our 30th Senior Championship. We are now calling on all past and present members, supporters and friends to support our Golf Classic by entering a team and/or sponsoring a tee box. Everyone welcome. Offaly GAA have teamed up with O’Neill’s to offer eight lucky kids the chance to be an official mascot for the upcoming championship games in O’Connor Park Tullamore
The winners will have the chance of a lifetime to lead the team onto the pitch with the captain. Each mascot will receive a Full Offaly Kit. All entrants must be 7-12 years old.
Coolderry GAA will be represented on the Thar an Trasnan feature as part of the Seo Spoirt programme on TG4 on Friday 22nd April at 9.45pm. The programme will be repeated on Sunday 24th at 12.15pm. Get the pop-corn in folks!
